The book follows the journey of John Doyle, as he fights to save his relationships and rescue his sinking career. After years of success, John's losing his best people and being passed over for promotions. At the suggestion of his eccentric client and mentor, John finds himself chasing the unconventional Dr. Mac around the city in a quest to discover how his personal style and response to conflict may be at the heart of the problem in all his relationships—both at work and at home. Employing the research of pioneering psychologist, clinical therapist, and educator Dr. Elias H. Porter (1914 - 1987), the authors reveal a relational approach to interpersonal conflict that consistently leads to better results, stronger relationships, and a reinforced sense of self-worth for all involved. Reviews In telling the story of John Doyle, Have a Nice Conflict gives us an everyman who faces the same conflicts—large and small—that each of us experience every day at home and in the workplace. Enter Dr. Mac, a combination of Marley's ghost, Yoda, and Peter Drucker to guide John—and us—through critical lessons in how to recognize, categorize, and deal with these conflicts.
